Ever Present is a game about never giving up. You'll be faced with a variety of 2D platforming challenges, full of spikes and sawblades, which will probably kill you over and over again. Thankfully, there's a friendly narrator by your side, ever present and ready to cheer you on, and remind you to never give up!

Controls:
[LEFT] and [RIGHT]: Move around. Hold while against a wall to cling to it and slide down slowly.
[Z] or [SPACE]: Jump, press again in midair to double jump. Press while clinging to a wall to  walljump.
[DOWN]: Hold to duck, or hold after releasing movement keys to slide.
[S]: Skip game introduction

Note: Currently, using the [Z] key to jump, and [S] key to skip the introduction aren't working in the browser version of the game. You can still use [SPACE] to jump, or download the .exe where everything works just fine. I'm trying to fix this, and I'll upload a fixed version when it's available.

lol funny voice acting, reminds me of getting over it - but this is the good angel talking in my ear and very encouraging, not a patronizing sarcastic one xD

The voice is great! Ran into a big bug though...

In the room where you have to fall down a buzzsaw-filled chamber, and jump up a path with saws shooting out of the wall, I died after picking up the key. The key didn't respawn, leaving me stuck in the room...

Oh, thanks for bringing my attention to this! I know what's likely causing the issue, so I'll fix it as soon as I have the chance!

Had a good time, I liked the Wholesome narrator :)
Accidentally closed the window and lost all my progress though, ill have to come back to this at some point. I am sure you know about this, but the wall jump is a bit exploitable with roofs.
Also, about Z and S not working, it worked fine in firefox on linux

Actually, I'm not sure what you mean about the wall jump and roofs, could you elaborate?

As for the Z and S, I'm glad it's at least working somewhere! I only tested the HTML5 build in Chrome on PC, so the problem could just be with Chrome, instead of with the entire build.

The wall jump roofs thing I was to referring to was that your jump seems to refresh on any collision with the world, allowing you to skip some parts of the game by just mashing jump as soon as you touch the ceiling, this lets your jumps refresh and you can stick to the ceiling indefinitely, with the help of the double jump mechanic

Oh! Thanks for letting me know, I’ll be sure to fix that!
